The Gen 3 Fantail 180 awning is the largest 180-degree free-standing awning of its kind in New Zealand, offering 9.2m² of coverage and a massive 6.5m span along the side of your vehicle.

Fully designed and partially assembled in Aotearoa, this updated model features a complete structural overhaul—bringing stronger materials, smarter design, and refined usability. From our truss-style arms made with custom aluminium extrusions, to the upgraded 4mm stainless steel hinge system, every component is built with serious off-road adventure in mind.

The 320gsm grey ripstop polyester canvas is PU coated, UV 50+ rated, and fully seam sealed to ensure 100% waterproof protection—without the mould and mildew risk of polycotton. The heavy-duty 1000D PVC travel cover protects your awning when stowed, and is tough enough to handle harsh bush tracks.

Two arms are fitted with dimmable white/amber LED lights, each with individual touch controls. Power them from your preferred source using the built-in power pouch with USB and cig plug inputs. For wet weather, fold-up poles and rain valley tie points improve drainage between arms and help keep the awning taut. The new all-aluminium rope ratchets and upgraded pole legs with thicker tubing improve performance and durability, even in strong winds.

This awning fits either side of your vehicle (LHS or RHS), is quick to deploy in under 60 seconds, and weighs just 26kg including brackets. With NZ support, available spare parts, and optional bracket lengths, the Fantail 180 is built for your next adventure.
